APRIL 28, 2014 - 10:11 PM

This has been a more than usual hard 28th day of the month for me since Mom passed away.  January  the first month was hard, but then it sort of passed each month with just passing thoughts of her.  Perhaps it was because I had my first birthday with her gone this month, or maybe this will just hit me harder some months.

R.I.P Mom and Dad.

THOSE BIRTHDAYS JUST KEEP COMING

Saturday was number 76.  Time marches on way to fast now.  But I had a great birthday. Marjie, Jackie, Robbin and Jessica took me out to eat at the new Mexican restaurant. Samantha, Jeremy and Kati stopped by during dinner.  My meal was great, hope I can remember what I got for another time.  The waiters surprised me with singing Happy Birthday, bringing me a shot of tequila, and smearing whipped topping on my face. 

Marjie brought a big box of delicious cupcakes, and brought me a bottle of wine, Jackie bought my dinner, and Robbin brought me a calla lily plant.

I would say it was a very nice birthday. 

WAIT FOR IT, WAIT FOR IT. YES SPRING IS ALMOST HERE

April is into its second week now, and forecast says by Wednesday we will be having some 70's weather.  Hope before too long, the chilly days are gone.

March 25, we started taking the free bus to the Downsteam Casino in Oklahoma. Went 2 weeks now, and plan to go this week. It is a nice weekly outing to look forward to as long as we do not lose too much money. Time will tell

April 14th, I am beginning a walking program through the Health Center. We are walking at 9:30 at the new High School track for 30 minutes. (Will miss "casino day" and days we have dr. apts), but will just need to walk on the weekend to make it 5 days. I want to walk 5 days a week. I began Sat walking outside to get used to it. I am bad about jumping on and off the treadmill, and not walking a whole 30 minutes at a time.  They are going to have it even when swimming begins in June. I will probably just swim for an hour during the swim season and not go walk of a morning too.

I have stuff to pot some plants and am getting anxious, but weather has still been cold so have held off.

We got the guttering on the garage, are still waiting on the concrete guy to come and see about patio repairs. Have a pretty good to do list on things go do on the house for the summer.

Spring brings hope, and I am very hopeful that we will have a very good summer.

SPRING WHERE ART THOU?

Looks like another week of rain, snow, and nasty weather in general.  I know March is fickle, but I am so ready for warm weather to stay.  The 70 degree days we have had really perk a person up.  I want to put some potted plants out tho I know better, one year in April I had them out, and had to carry them all in when we had a near frost spell.

I cannot wait to see everything green and colorful and to lay awhile in the hammock watching the sky and leaves.  Will soon be the season to paint and redo and perk up the house and yard.  And I will be in a good mood when I am warm, and hopefully back in the mood to get more daily exercise.  I really need that too. 

Lets let this little red snowbird enjoy some warmth.

MARCH, GLAD TO SEE YOU, HOPE YOU MOVE ALONG QUICKLY

March is here, I am now a "landlady", and am looking forward to summer.  I feel so much pressure off of me with getting the house rented, so am free of the utilities. And hoping not too much goes wrong with it in the first year, so I can get some rental funds built up to keep it in good shape.  Because I do want to eventually sell it.

I hope we can do some fun things this summer. Worry some about the fact that Jim or I one have some bad days when we do not feel good.  Getting old is a bitch. 

 Hoping we can go to WV this summer, and also maybe to Branson for a few days.  And of course to the casino...it is close and does not take a lot of effert.

For the first time in 6 years, I feel free and though some quilt comes with that, it is still a good feeling.

Will also be looking forward to summer and swim aerobics.
Maybe I can have a few good years before I begin to fall apart.

 

FEBRUARY COMING TO AN END.

Went to a "cousins Luncheon" today and had a very good time.  Vickie fixed a wonderful meal, we looked at some old pictures, and had a fun visit.

Has been a crazy weekend regarding Mom's house. Have someone who looked at it to rent, they had not called back yet when the realtor called to see if we rented yet, as she had a buyer.  When we got home had a message the renter wanted the house. After talking to the realtor later, the buyers wanted to offer a deal that was not great, 74,000 and us pay 3000 of their closing. Told her would do 79,000 and pay the costs. Then it got more complicated as they would have to get an appraisal from loan co.  We decided if we messed around with the buyer since they wanted us to come down more, we might lose a buyer and a renter.  So we are going to become landlords at least for a year. The renter wants to sign an agreement for 1 year.
At least we can finally get some money coming the other way as we are into over 10,000 spent over the past few years for expenses with nothing coming in from it.

Think maybe I can do a happy dance.

BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN LAWS VISITED.

Jim's family came Thurs. Feb 13th.  It was a nice winter break.  We had a good time visiting.  All of the kids except Eric who was out of town got to see them.  We had a great time visiting and catching up, after not seeing each other for a long time.
